Vacation
1. Freedom from any activity, rest, respite, intermission
2. A period of rest and freedom from work, study, etc.; time of recreation, usually a specific interval in a year.
3. A vacation is a leave of absence from regular occupation, or a specific trip or journey, for the purpose of recreation or tourism. People often take a vacation during specific holiday observances, or for specific festivals or celebrations. Vacation are often spent with friends and family.
You can have a cheap vacation, All inclusive vacation, Last minute vacation, Worry free vacation, Family vacation, Disney vacation, Hawaii vacation. So much to worry about in taking a vacation.
So on Monday I will take a leave of absence to have an intermission for a time of recreation to a place of celebration with a freedom together with my family. On Oct 12-- I will come back to work for a time of rest! Holiday Road here I come!

If you get skunked!
Today the young man behind the Del Taco counter asked me "SIR" "WOULD YOU LIKE THE SENIOR DISCOUNT? I gave him a look!!!-----He acted like he was sprayed with essence!!! Then I told him yes I need it now since you think I am old!
If you are ever sprayed in life...
Mix together:
1 quart hydrogen peroxide
1/4 c baking soda
1 tsp liquid laundry soap or dish washing detergent
The first two ingredients from an alkaline peroxide that chemically changes the skunk essence into an odorless chemical.
The soap breaks down the oily skunk essence an makes it more susceptible to the other chemicals.
Chemicals in this formula are harmless and can be used on people, clothing and pets. Use immediately after mixing; do not store (it will expand and can burst a closed container.)
Moral of the story--Don't keep you Essence inside--let it out or it will expand and burst!

5 miles There--3 miles Home
Summers in Riverside 45 years ago were spent on a Schwinn Deluxe Stingray with a banana seat and sissy bar. A bicycle to all others. Fire red!!!
3 times a week we were going to Arlington Park to swim and to hang out with the guys. We would always go a different way each time to make sure we were not a boring group of guys. The morning swim was the best and it was only .25 cent. The diving board was pretty cool not as good as the one at La Granada pool. Most of the older, rich kids went to swim at that pool. It cost a lot of money to get into La Granada--.50 cents. After the swim we would ride to dairy queen for a .15 cent ice cream cone. The trip there was always 5 miles or more with stops at places of mischief. The trip home was always 3 miles because lunch was on the table.
Looking back I think parents were smarter then-- . 40 cent and you could get rid of your kids for most of the day. All summer long!
Thou hast set all the borders of the earth:thous hast made summer and winter. Psalms 74:17

Remember when you would get out the white Wonder bread, the Skippy peanut butter and the jelly grandma made???
Today in 2010 to make a PBJ you would just pop the lid. Get one candwich and its good for one year. What is the world coming too.
